Friends,
This is just a reminder to save the date and get your book lined up (if you'll be able to join, of course).
We're reading David B. Hart together, starting on August 27, 7pm, at my house (51 Roosevelt St., Watsonville, 95076):
Usually,
our group meets monthly, but I've heard some would like to read meet
every other week with this one (to keep this, likely challenging, text
together). Please look over your calendar and come with your preference
of reading pace (regardless, we read at my house, so there is no
homework other than securing a copy of the book).
By the
way, David B. Hart is interviewed in the latest edition of Mars Hill
Audio Journal. If you have $30 hiding somewhere, you can subscribe...or
I can play it for you all when we finish the book, perhaps. You'll
hear the h(e)art of his arguments against Materialism...and perhaps feel
happy to bypass some of his denser scholarly prose to join us for his
still-not-quite-pedestrian (I've heard) fiction!
All the best,
El Schwagero
Rowan Williams Awarding Hart a Prize for
Atheists Delusions. Now if we could just take some of the eyebrows from Williams...and move them over to the forehead of Hart...someone needs to kick me.
